Alan Tudyk's brief cameo in Andor season 2, where he reprised his role as K-2SO for the first time since Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is up for an Emmy Award. Tudyk is used to receiving compliments for his performance as Captain Cassian Andor's loyal companion, but aspects of their relationship went unexplored in Andor season 2.
Alan Tudyk would’ve liked to have seen ANDOR explore K-2SO’s regret and “awful PTSD” for all the bad things he did for the Empire.

Although Cassian and K-2's bond is one of the best parts of Rogue One, Andor revealed that the duo only met a year before the events of the film, and their meeting was volatile. While K-2 seemed friendly and dedicated to Cassian after being reprogrammed, Cassian seemed distant, which is different from their fun banter in Rogue One. It seems the series skipped the best parts of their relationship and didn't shed light on how they bonded.
Alan Tudyk wishes the series had delved into how his character came to terms with the horrors he committed on behalf of the Empire. In an interview with Gold Derby, Tudyk revealed "that idea would've been great to go to play with... K-2, who probably has some kind of awful PTSD and needs to have somebody tell him, ‘This is who you are now.’ I would have loved to have depicted that, because Cassian and K-2 truly bonded by the time we see them in Rogue One."
The idea of a droid having PTSD is unique, but it's hard to know whether K-2 remembers everything he did for the Empire before he was reprogrammed. In The Mandalorian, IG-11 was an assassin droid that worked for the bounty hunter's guild before being reprogrammed by the Ugnaught, Kuiil. He wiped IG's memory, and while he had no recollection of his past behavior, his personality completely changed.
K-2SO became Cassian's closest friend, and it would've been great to see more of their journey together. However, the series glossed over their relationship. Alan Tudyk has admitted that his role was initially meant to be bigger in Andor, but it was reduced. This may have gotten rid of the fun banter between K-2 and Captain Andor, which is a highlight of Rogue One.
You can always re-watch Rogue One if you missed the back and forth between K-2SO and Cassian Andor. In typical Star Wars fashion, Alan Tudyk's performance as the sassy droid, his quirky, honest, and humorous lines, takes the edge off the tension-filled moments in the movie.
