Darth Plagueis is having quite the year, coming back to the forefront of Star Wars again. So, it's the right time for this bit of news to drop, especially as this would make a great present for the holidays for the Star Wars Legends fan in your life.

As reported by Youtini, specialty bookshop Inkstone Books is releasing a special edition of the Extended Universe book Darth Plagueis by James Luceno. This exclusive hardback will be signed by Luceno and numbed as there will only be 500 made. The book's cover features the titular Sith Lord in gold foil with the dust jacket showcasing the art from the Essential Legends Collection. The pages are my personal favorite part as they are sprayed red.

There will be waves for this special release of Darth Plagueis, so if you have bought previous Inkstone Books editions, you're in luck. The first wave will become available on November 8 for the people who bought their exclusive of Kenobi by John Jackson Miller. The next wave is on November 11 for anyone who has ever purchased an Inkstone Star Wars book. If you're part of their Star Wars mailing list, you're in the third wave on November 14. Finally, on November 16, the novel will become available for everyone. Grab one fast, because those 500 will go quick!

There is no price listed at the time of writing this. However, Kenobi was £22, or roughly $28 in U.S. terms, so it can be assumed this will be similar.

Darth Plagueis fully returned to the current canon earlier this year in The Acolyte, though it's still unclear at this time if he was Qimir AKA The Stranger's master or not. This short cameo launched a lot of speculation about his character, showing the importance that the Extended Universe still had in the current canon. It's why this special edition copy of his titular novel is so fitting.
