Ewan McGregor provided fans with the most promising update on Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2, as he confirmed that ideas for a possible Season 2 are being explored.

The actor attended a panel at LA Comic Con yesterday, where his co-star Hayden Christensen was also in attendance. Along with McGregor and Christensen, the cast of The Mandalorian, including Ming-Na Wen, Giancarlo Esposito, and Emily Swallow, were also in the house.

McGregor made his desire to do Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 crystal clear and reiterated his hopes of working with Hayden Christensen again. When the Kenobi series concluded, creator Deborah Chow confirmed it was written as a limited series. However, a lot has happened since then, and apart from The Mandalorian Season 3, no show has surpassed its viewership. The ending also left the door open for another season, which could have a vastly different tone from the first.

While Kenobi tackled the fallout from Order 66 and what Obi-Wan considers his life's biggest failure, a second season can take a more positive and hopeful turn. Since Obi-Wan overcame his trauma of losing Anakin to the dark side, Season 2 can give us an insight into Obi-Wan's years of solitude on Tatooine, as it's unlikely he'll venture off the planet again. He's likely to stay there as he reconnects with his former Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, whom we saw in the show's finale. Furthermore, a young Luke Skywalker can be a recurring character should Lucasfilm decide to make a Season 2.

Additionally, as we've seen very little of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon's relationship after The Phantom Menace, it would be exciting to see Qui-Gon imparting more wisdom on Obi-Wan, including lessons on retaining his consciousness when he eventually joins the force. McGregor hopes he gets a chance to put on the Clone Wars armor for a few live-action Clone Wars flashbacks with his pal, Hayden Christensen, and that's enough to get fans pumped for a possible Season 2.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is streaming on Disney+.
