Ewan McGregor continues to express his desire to come back for even more Star Wars.

After the overall success of Obi-Wan Kenobi, McGregor has continued to hope that, eventually, Lucasfilm will contact him for a possible Season 2. In a new interview with Deadline, McGregor sounds more hopeful than ever and says, "I hope we get a chance to do another one and I’m sure we will. I’m pretty sure, you know, I’ve got a few years yet before I’m the same age as Alec Guinness was in A New Hope. So there’s time to tell more stories in there.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi was written as a six-episode limited series, and chances of the story continuing are slim unless the plot takes off a few years further down the timeline. McGregor is holding out hope that age is on his side, and should Lucasfilm choose to continue Obi-Wan's story, he'll be back for the role. There are still a few years left until A New Hope, so if Lucasfilm decides to make another season of the show, there are many possible plotlines.

Another season of the show or another series focusing on Obi-Wan may not be as exciting as the Kenobi series. The chances of Obi-Wan leaving Tatooine are slim. It's next to impossible that he'll ever run into Darth Vader again, so don't expect any fancy duels between Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. However, life on Tatooine comes with its challenges and adventures. Many fans are curious to see Obi-Wan's interactions with Force-ghost Qui-Gon Jinn and a peak at Luke Skywalker as a teenager. The series can also continue with a split-narrative format, spend some time with Darth Vader and the Inquisitors, and focus on the early days of what would eventually become the Rebel Alliance.

For now, we just have to remain hopeful and take Ewan McGregor's words with a grain of salt. As fans of Obi-Wan, we hope Ewan's optimism pays off, and Lucasfilm gets in touch with him very soon.
