Extremely rare Jawa action figure will be auctioned for an impressive amount
An extremely rare Jawa action figure is soon expected to be auctioned for an enormous amount of cash. As reported by Sky News, the toy was manufactured in 1978 by a British company called Palitoy, and only around ten or fifteen were known to have been produced before Palitoy went out of business. On top of that, the figure is also reportedly in mint condition, and it still features its original vinyl cape, making it an irreplaceable item for collectors to bid on. Although they kidnapped R2-D2 in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Jawas have proven to be a prevalent and endearing aspect of the Star Wars franchise. Most fans would love to get their hands on this elusive action figure.
The anonymous owner found the Jawa figure in his attic, where it had been stored for many years. Although the owner has not been named, it is known that they worked as the art director for Marvel UK back in the 1970s. They were often showered with Star Wars-related gifts from the comic publisher. Marvel was the publisher of Star Wars comics at the time, so this information hardly comes as a surprise. As strange as it may sound, the same individual who is auctioning this figure also previously auctioned another Jawa figure for a total of £26,670, which converts to $33,945. Needless to say, this person has clearly been incredibly lucky when it comes to profiting from rare Jawa toys.
The figure is currently expected to be auctioned for at least £15,000 (which converts to $19,100), with Excalibur Auctions facilitating the sale. The auction will take place on January 27, so you had better start counting your pennies if you would like to bid on this extremely rare and highly sought-after action figure.
