The 25th anniversary of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace is a month away, and it's no surprise that new merchandise is coming. Eight new Funko POPs are on the way, though a release date and retailers have not been revealed yet.

The first is Anakin Skywalker wearing his podrace gear with a helmet and goggles. Obi-Wan is the second, brandishing his blue lightsaber in a fighting stance. Jar Jar Bink is the third, prepared for battle.

There are two Padmé Funko POPs, which is super exciting. The first is Padmé in her handmaiden disguise. The second, though, is one of the show-stoppers. Queen Amidala sits regally on her throne in a larger-than-usual POP with the queen in all her glory.

To get into the villains and the antagonists from The Phantom Menace, first up is Watto, the sleazy sleemo who owned Anakin and Shmi Skywalker. His model is well done, with his wrinkles expertly crafted. One fun POP is the B-1 Battle Droid! I've gotten a soft spot for these little doofuses throughout The Clone Wars, so it's neat to see them have a Funko POP.

The last entry is another oversized piece of one of the most iconic villains in the franchise. Darth Maul rides his Bloodfin Speeder, hunting for his target.

Surprisingly, there is no Qui-Gon Jinn Funko POP. He's the main Jedi Master of the movie, so it's odd that he's not part of this reveal. However, there could always be more POPs for The Phantom Menace to be announced later.

The 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace will see the film return to theaters starting on May 3. Along with these Funko POPs, multiple books and comics have been announced. Darth Maul—Black, White & Red is a new comic series, and The Living Force by John Jackson Miller is a new book out next week.
