Star Wars: The Acolyte Season 1, episodes 1 and 2 are kicking off a brand new series in a setting that’s never been seen before in live action. This two episode premiere takes place about 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

The plot of the show is a mysterious being is killing Jedi. Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) volunteers to seek out the culprit when all sources seem to point out that it is his ex-padawan Mae (Amandla Stenberg), who has left the Jedi Order. The noir-inspired mystery unravels in new twists and turns as nothing is what it seems.

The era is set at the tail end of the High Republic, which is considered the golden age of the Republic and Jedi Order. The multimedia project has been told in books, comics, audio dramas, and the Emmy Award-winning pre-school series Young Jedi Adventures. The Acolyte is the first time the era will be seen in live action, with book characters like Vernestra Rwoh making their jump onto the screen.
