Is Ahmed Best creating a new Star Wars video game?

Which is something that we could be saying very soon. Long-time Star Wars actor Ahmed Best teased on his Instagram account that he may be making something for Star Wars. In the post, he is wearing a motion capture suit. The text says, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in."

What's interesting is the hashtags used. He specifically uses "Star Wars," "Jar Jar Binks," "Activision," "Jedi," "Sith Lord," and "Kelleran Beq."

The first two big tags here are the "Star Wars" and "Activision." This seems to indicate he is working on some sort of Star Wars video game. There is some history with the two companies (which you can read all about here). This could mean there might be some news about another game on the horizon, and May the 4th is just around the corner.

The other part of this post that interests me is two of the hashtags, being "Jar Jar Binks" and "Kelleran Beq." Best's return to Star Wars in The Mandalorian was a major highlight of Season 3. He had been a long-time fan favorite on the game show Jedi Temple Challenge, but the reveal that Beq was the one who saved Grogu from Order 66 was a massive deal. With two Mandoverse movies on the way, it would be a prime time to explore more about the man who saved Grogu.

However, I almost think this post could be about Best returning to play Jar Jar Binks. The wording of the post says, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in," indicating a return of some kind. Despite what anyone thinks about Episode I: The Phantom Menace, the technology to bring Jar Jar Binks to life was groundbreaking. Jar Jar walked so Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Planet of the Apes, and any movie that used motion capture technology that came after it could run. It was historic in every way. Best stepping into such an important role in the history of cinema again, regardless of what anyone thinks, to reclaim it back would be fascinating to see. It's also the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace this year, which would make some sort of game announcement in the time period quite fitting.

This is all speculation at the moment, but it's fun to think about the possibility of something new with Ahmed Best on the horizon. He's an incredibly talented actor who didn't deserve any of the hatred that came his way. We'll have to wait and see what is announced down the road.
