Lucasfilm is brewing up another animated series, and the Force is strong with this one. After the epic conclusion of The Bad Batch, it seems the galaxy is ready for more animated adventures, and we couldn't be more excited!

According to our friends over at Screen Rant, Lucasfilm Animation is on the lookout for a Shot Production Coordinator to help bring this new series to life. Yep! Seems like they’re diving back into the world of Star Wars animation, and the possibilities are as vast as the galaxy itself. Now, what can we expect from this new series? While the details are still under wraps tighter than a Wookiee hug, speculation is running wild. Will it continue to explore the Clone Wars era, or will it take us to new, uncharted territories in the Star Wars timeline?

With The Acolyte introducing audiences to the High Republic era, this period is ripe for more stories. Imagine animated tales of Jedi facing off against creepy creatures like the Drengir or the Nameless. Remember Morgan Elsbeth's third episode in Tales of the Empire? New Republic assets could springboard into their own series, highlighting the tumultuous era following the fall of the Empire. Another possibility is an obvious one: this could be a chance to revisit beloved characters. Could Captain Rex and Echo’s adventures continue? Or maybe the fantastic Asajj Ventress, freshly resurrected and reformed, could take center stage. Heaven knows that would be a dream for me.

Star Wars animation has always been a cornerstone of the franchise, from the nostalgic days of the first The Clone Wars episode to the recent hits like Tales of the Empire. Animation allows for rich storytelling and stunning visuals that are sometimes even more impressive than live-action. Also, who doesn’t love seeing their favorite galaxy through a new artistic lens?

While the official announcement might still be in the future, the gears are clearly in motion. With job listings going up, it’s only a matter of time before Lucasfilm gives us a sneak peek. The only little hiccup I'm worried about in this timeline is the fact The Animation Guild (TAG) had been planning on going on a strike last year, which never came to fruition. Now, according to a report on the strike situation written last year by Collider, with TAG's contract expiring at the end of the month, there's a big possibility for a strike on the horizon.

In the meantime, all the animated Star Wars series you love are available on Disney+, ready for a binge-watch session to tide you over until the new show drops.
