This recap contains full spoilers for LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy episode one.

Episode 1 of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy opens with a classic Star Wars pan down to the planet of Fennesa, revealing a town during a lightning storm. A nerf herder, Sig Greebling, is telling a story to three others around a campfire, recapping the events of the original and sequel trilogy to them.

The people listening to Sig's story aren't impressed because he tells the same story every time (though he notes he left out Thrawn and The Book of Boba Fett). The storm passes, and Sig's brother Dev pulls up, saying they must lead down a group of nerfs from the mountain before the next storm comes in. The brothers head out to wrangle up some critters.

Sig's not happy, figuring out that Dev has been cutting corners again, which is how the nerfs got so far away in the first place. Dev wants to make enough money to get off the planet, but Sig says that Fennesa is their home. Dev asks his brother if he wants to leave to tell his own stories. Sig says he's content with the way things are.

They find the nerfs, with one lead blue nerf named Lug refusing to listen to Sig, leading the rest of the beasts further away. Sig, a rule follower, is trying to herd the right way with a traditional nerf herder stick. Again, Dev cuts corners, using his speeder to round up the creatures, infuriating both Lug and Sig.

Once more, Dev uses his speeder but loses control of the vehicle! He careens through the air. Sig reaches out with his brother, accidentally using the Force to make a soft landing for Sig out of some plants. Sig reveals that he's been able to use the Force for years but not in the traditional way. He can only seem to build things.

Dev thinks his brother should tell everyone he has the Force. However, Sig insists he's not brave or cool, saying, "The second you have powers and can do extraordinary things, people expect extraordinary things from you. And I just want to be ordinary." Dev says that his little brother is not ordinary and hopes he realizes that. Sig laments that he wishes Dev had the powers, not him.

They return to the town, where New Republic officers confront their boss, Farmer Scala, about his daughter, Yesi, joyriding in one of their X-wings. After the officers leave, Scala insists that she needs to behave since she'll take over the farm. But Yesi doesn't want the farm; she wants to be a pilot.

She storms over to her friends, where she and Dev vent their frustrations about wanting to leave. Yesi doesn't want her path decided for her. She and Dev decide to hang out while Sig scampers off awkwardly back home. That's because Sig has a crush on Yesi.

His Gonk droid, Servo, welcomes him home. The two of them watch from the window as Dev, Yesi, and the town party together.

The next morning, while herding more nerfs, Dev tells Sig that Yesi has agreed to leave with him as soon as he has the credits. Sig is upset they're leaving despite Dev begging him to join them.

Suddenly, an ion storm rolls in, lightning striking everywhere! Lug breaks free from his reins, almost falling over a cliff. Sig manages to pull the nerf back up, but he slips! Dev snags his brother just in time! However, Servo wants to help, too, accidentally knocking all three of them over the edge.

Thankfully, the three of them are okay. Dev knows a shortcut, which ends up being a much longer way around. While moving through a pass, they come across what looks to be a Jedi temple. Dev wants to go in and find one kyber crystal to sell to get them off the planet. Sig isn't sure, but Dev says that with Sig's Force powers, surely this is destiny! He pressures his younger brother into using the Force to open the door.

The temple is beautiful with statues of Jedi and glowing crystals. One block in particular is brighter than the rest. Sig reads a plaque that this is the temple that "holds the galaxy together," just as Dev sees the block.

Sig stops him, making Dev angry. Dev calls Sig out on his fear, telling him he'll be stuck in life forever. Deciding to prove he's not afraid, Sig grabs the glowing block with the Force. Just as he rips it out of the wall, a mysterious cloaked figure, a Jedi, tells them to get away from there!

The temple begins to break apart as bright light pours out of the wall! Dev gets outside, but the door collapses, trapping Sig, Servo, and the Jedi inside. The Jedi cries out that space and time are falling apart! The building blocks of the galaxy are being remade as planets, ships, people, time, major events in canon, everything gets is changing.

"What's come before us is gone. All the triumphs and tragedies will be rebuilt into... something new," the Jedi says as the last waves of light ripple across the galaxy finally settle.

Later, Sig and Servo burst out of the temple's rubble, which looks like a completely different world. They're not in the mountain pass they walked through before. While looking for Dev, Sig realizes that everything around him is different.

Up on the ridge, he spots a clone trooper. This confuses him because clones haven't been around for decades. Then, more clone troopers arrive, surrounding Sig and Servo. They rip off their helmets...

And all the troopers are clones of Admiral Ackbar! Of course, they all must scream, "IT'S A TRAP!" Also, Fennesa belongs to the Empire now, which can't be possible because the Empire has been gone for some time.

The Ackbars, who work for the Empire, want to take Sig to the Sith Lord in charge. Just as our heroes are surrounded, Yesi springs out of the ruins, fighting off all the Mon Cala clones! But things still aren't right because Yesi doesn't know Sig anymore. She thinks Sig was sent to watch her because she apparently messed up once in the Rebellion. The Empire killed her father, and she's only on Fennesa to scout it out for the Rebel Alliance.

One of the Ackbars wakes up and tries to shoot Yesi. Sig uses the Force to throw a block and knock him out again. She's ecstatic that she found a Jedi and how that can change the tide for her-- er, she means the Rebellion.

They head back into town. Sig is upset that his home has changed (though he thinks the X-wing TIE fighter mash-ups are very cool, and Yesi calls them "X-fighters"). Our heroes only need to get into the port to Yesi's ship, and then they can get out of there.

On the way in, Sig spots Dev marching with a group of Ackbar troopers. Only, Dev looks different. He's scowling and wearing all black. Despite Yesi trying to stop him, Sig runs out to help his brother. Though, he's quickly surrounded and what's worse:

Dev doesn't seem to recognize Sig at all. He can feel the Force in Sig, who says they found the Jedi temple together. This Dev has been looking for the temple for years! There is one more horrible thing about this Dev, too.

He is a Sith Lord named Darth Dev, complete with him pulling up his hood for dramatic Sith Lord flair. It's short for Darth Devastator, as Dev shows off his own Force lightning. This Dev is also the ruler of the galaxy now.

Dev uses the Force to rip Yesi out of hiding, capturing her and Sig. As they're led away, Servo is still tucked into the alley and is met by the mysterious Jedi from before.

It's Jedi Bob, and he has a plan to save them. This is where episode 1 of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy ends.
