Podathon 2024 is raising money for Make-A-Wish on Star Wars Day

This May the 4th, a group of Star Wars podcasters is coming together for Podathon 2024! This fourth annual event is raising money for Make-A-Wish America. The event begins on May 4 at 9 AM EST and will run late into the night. All proceeds directly benefit the foundation, and the Podathon has raised over $27,000 since its inception to help fight childhood illness.

Multiple celebrity guests are already confirmed, with more surprises to come too! Confirmed guests so far include Billy Dee Williams, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Lucasfilm Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo, authors Lydia Kang, Tessa Gratton, and Zoraida Cordova, Lucasfilm Publishing's Michael Siglain, Jordan Hembrough, Star Wars: Visions director LeAndre Thomas, and Lucasfilm Animation Producer Justin Ridge. There will also be a raffle held throughout the day where viewers can win a chance for a prize for every $10 they donate. These prizes are from Lucasfilm, Chronicle Books, Star Wars Rebels' Vanessa Marshall, and more!

You don't have to wait until May 4 to donate, either! You can contribute now on the Make-A-Wish site! Early donations of $10 or more not only count towards the raffle, but early donations also count as TWO raffle entries! So get them in now! At the time of this writing, the Podathon is already pushing $2000, which is AMAZING!

Event organizer Pete Fletzer from Around the Galaxy podcast shared in the press release, "The Star Wars fan community is made up of some of the most generous and caring people I’ve ever met. The outpouring of support in years past has been so powerful and more than we honestly expected.”

Event team member and host of Tarkin's Top Shelf Becca Benjamin also stated, “Our shared love of the Star Wars universe has led us to opportunities to get to know so many amazing people. Giving back to the community in the form of a wonderful charity like MAKE-A-WISH feels like a natural thing to do.”
