Ahsoka nabs 5 Primetime Emmy nominations!

The nominations for the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards are here, and Star Wars is well represented in the categories it most often shines in. The limited series Ahsoka came out on top, garnering five creative nominations!

Let's look at each of the nominations!

Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes

This nomination is for costume designer Shawna Trpcic with Assistant Costume Designer Elissa Alcala and Costume Supervisor Devon Patterson for "Part Eight: The Jedi, The Witch, And The Warlord."

Outstanding Period Or Fantasy/Sci-Fi Hairstyling

For "Part One: Master and Apprentice," this nomination is for Department Head Hairstylist Maria Sandoval, Assistant Department Head Hairstylist Ashleigh Childers, Key Hairstylist Sallie Ciganovich, and Hari stylists Marc Mapile and Alyn Topper.

Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup

"Part 8" is the focus again for this nomination, showcasing the work of Makeup Designers Alexei Dmitriew and Cristina Waltz as well as Prosthetic Designer J. Alan Scott. Their crew is Key Makeup Ana Gabriela Quinonez Urrego along with Cale Thomas, Alex Perrone, and Scott Stoddard.

Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (Half-Hour) And Animation

Matthew Wood is no stranger to these nominations. This Co-Supervising Sound Editor is joined by his fellow Supervising Sound editor Bonnie Wild and Sound Designer David Acord. Along with the nomination is their team of James Spencer, Vanessa Lapato, Stephanie McNally, Trey Turner, Kimberly Patrick, Tim Farrell, Joel Raabe, Chris Tergesen, Ronni Brown, Heikki Kossi, and Shelley Roden.

Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie

Focusing on the entire series, this group consist of a team from ILM celebrating the work of Richard Bluff, Jakris Smittant, Paul Kavanagh, TC Harrison, Scott Fisher, Enrico Damm, Justin van der Lek, Rick O’Connor, and J. Alan Scott.

These nominations are bittersweet, as Shawna Trpcic passed away in 2023. Ahsoka was her final series, and her absence from the franchise was missed. It's exciting to see her work celebrated in this way.
