Star Wars fans who love old Star Wars video games will be thrilled that it was announced via Gizmodo that the classic game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter will be remastered and released on all modern consoles on August 1. Prepare to suit up as Jango Fett yet again.

22 year old Star Wars game is getting remastered to be released in August

This is awesome news for those who played this game when it first came out. This game was so much fun for me to play as a kid, getting to go around as Jango Fett and collect bounties, using all of his various weapons to do so. I also remember the game being quite hard, and I never fully defeated it. Now, with the remaster, I will have another chance.

It is worth checking out for those who have never played the game. Even with the remaster, the game will surely feel old compared to modern games, but it should still be fun for all gamers. At the very least you get to hear Temuera Morrison's iconic voice as Jango and enjoy a cool story. Basically, the premise is that Darth Sidious and Count Dooku are looking for a template for the Clone Army they are planning, and Dooku sends Fett on a mission to see if he is worthy.

You also get to meet a female Toydarian named Roz. The game is officially Star Wars Legends, but in my head canon Roz and Watto end up together. The original meeting between Fett and Zam Wessel is in the game, too.

In all, it is worth checking out, and the brief announcement trailer gives you a taste of what to expect when Star Wars: Bounty Hunters is released.

Of course, ASPYR is the same video game company that remastered the original Star Wars: Battlefront games earlier this year, which were a bit of a mess upon launch. However, this remaster should go better because the Bounty Hunter game does not have an online component, and that seemed to be the major issue with the Battlefront remaster.

If you are looking for a trip down memory lane, you can take it on August 1 with the remaster of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.
