The Mandalorian Season 3 ended with Din Djarin and Grogu settling down on a thriving Nevarro, under the leadership of High Magistrate Greef Karga.

Despite that, the future of Nevarro seems as uncertain as the future of Greef Karga, played by the late Carl Weathers. If Jon Favreau doesn't replace Weathers, someone else will have to play the part of Nevarro's High Magistrate. Din Djarin might be the right man for the job.

Much has been written regarding Din's leadership abilities, which have grown steadily since The Mandalorian Season 1. After the end of The Mandalorian Season 2, many expected Din to consider ruling Mandalore. However, Din never gave it any thought. With Bo-Katan as its new ruler, Mandalore is poised for a revival, similar to the kind Nevarro went through under the leadership of Greef Karga. Though, is Nevarro's future now in danger?

Nevarro's come a long way since it was overrun by scum and villainy and largely ignored by the New Republic. It's a much safer place now, but with Greef Karga gone, peace won't last too long. Gorian Shard's pirate gang could return, and we'd hate to see Nevarro's destruction. However, can someone like Din Djarin, who knows the ins and outs of the planet and resides there permanently, take on the role of its leader?

It's an intriguing idea that allows Din an opportunity for growth that has been lacking lately in The Mandalorian. Many fans were unhappy with Din Djarin's little character development in Season 3. Although Bo-Katan was destined to become Mandalore's eventual leader, fans had hoped for a more in-depth exploration of Din's journey toward leadership, even if it was meant to be a temporary or supporting role. Nevertheless, this can be easily made up for in the movie if Din decides to take over the leadership of Nevarro.

As the High Magistrate of Nevarro, Din won't have to deal with the baggage of bringing all factions of Mandalorian clans together. He can balance his work as the High Magistrate while mentoring Grogu. Din will have access to vital information that can help the New Republic while also keeping a lookout for any Imperial Remnant activity. At the end of Season 3, Din agreed to work on a case-by-case basis, catching Imperial Remnants for the New Republic.

The movie's main focus can be Din's return to bounty hunting, but it can also continue The Mandalorian's abandoned leadership arc. Moreover, with the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn on the horizon, Nevarro needs to be led by a strong and unselfish leader, and Din fits the bill.

Taking over the duties of the High Magistrate of Nevarro would be a fitting end to the Mando movie and give Din Djarin a promotion that feels earned but doesn't clash with his duties as a father and mentor. Even Greef Karga would've approved of Mando taking over the job.

While it's unclear what Jon Favreau has planned for Greef Karga, Din Djarin, and Nevarro, our favorite Mandalorian as High Magistrate is an idea Favreau should consider.
