The Mandalorian & Grogu may not be the end of the Mandoverse.

Giancarlo Esposito has been part of The Mandalorian since the show's very beginning. Though he may not have much say over what happens in the story of Din Djarin, he has plenty of predictions just like the rest of us.

According to ComicBook.com, the actor spoke about the future of the Star Wars "Mandoverse" at a recent Dragon Con 2024 panel. He described what he hopes the future of the franchise will look like, comparing it to the interconnected stories of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

"Disney will figure out how to join all of these characters into one really great movie or TV show," Esposito told the panel audience. "That's my sense of where it will go ... My sense is that it's all going to converge at one point or another."

The so-called "Mandoverse" is the series of interconnected Disney+ shows that all take place around the same time period as The Mandalorian. Presently, these also include The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka. The forthcoming Skeleton Crew and The Mandalorian & Grogu movie will also take place in this same "universe within a universe" of projects.

Ongoing discussions among Star Wars fans have highlighted concerns about the future of Star Wars, particularly when it comes to its Disney+ shows. Many have speculated that Dave Filoni's movie will presumably be the end of the story Lucasfilm has been telling in pieces since 2019, but Esposito believes there's more to come.

There are endless amounts of stories that have yet to be told in Star Wars. The future of the franchise has always been uncertain—many assumed this would all end with Return of the Jedi in 1983 and then again with Revenge of the Sith in 2005. Despite all odds, Star Wars has persisted. What it will look like is a question mark, but there's no doubt the franchise as a whole is here to stay.
