Star Wars: Skeleton Crew gets a Christmas release window
Strap in for the next adventure in the Mandoverse, because we now have a release window for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
Speaking in an interview with Collider, director Jon Watts shared at CCXP that Skeleton Crew's release window is this Christmas. This tracks with other Mandoverse series. The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 as well as The Book of Boba Fett all had late fall and winter releases.
The Amblin-inspired series features a group of kids in a coming-of-age story about four kids who are whisked away on an adventure, getting lost in the galaxy. The show follows their trek back home. The series stars Jude Law as an unknown Force user, Kerry Condon, and Jaleel White.
The core of the story are the four young stars playing the currently unnamed children. They are Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith. In a recent article, Condon praised the child actors and the series, saying via Variety, "It’s so great. I don’t even have kids, but I’d pay to see this. I loved it. I loved being on it. There was something about it that was so innocent and playful and lovely. People say don’t work with kids or animals, but I don’t know about that. And also when children are good actors, they’re kind of out-of-this-world good. So watching some of the kids’ scenes, it was amazing. Jude Law’s in it, and I’ve worked with him before. But it’s really adventurous and they got such great directors for each episode – the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Bryce Dallas Howard, Lee Isaac Chung, David Lowery. It was a pretty amazing group. And of course, Jon Watts who created the whole thing."
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has the release window of Christmas 2024. Of course this isn't an official annoucement from Lucasfilm, so do take it with a grain of salt. However, with Star Wars Day tomorrow, it wouldn't be surprising if we get an official release date sooner rather than later.
