The star of the next Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, has given us some major updates! Sitting down with People Magazine, Jude Law revealed a new addition to the cast for the Mandoverse show! We also now know the release date. Skeleton Crew arrives on Disney+ on December 3.

The Three Flavours Cornetto star Nick Frost has joined the cast, voicing a droid named SM 33. Law shared some details about Frost's character, saying how the droid is "absolutely perfect."

"He's like a rusty old, cranky droid that sort of reluctantly helps the kids along the way. The other thing about him is that he's the first mate of a mysterious ship."

Frost almost made it into a Star Wars movie, though he eventually turned down the role in The Force Awakens. Speaking to Celebrity Catch Up: Life After That Thing I Did podcast, via Gamerant, Frost explained how it was for a small role in the film, "It was only a little bit but I was like, it’s really small, the pay’s rubbish… I’ve got a family – I don’t do this for free." While only a voice role, it looks like Skeleton Crew was much more to Frost's liking and sounds like its a much bigger role in the series.

Skeleton Crew follows the journey of a group of kids who accidentally get lost in the galaxy. Along with Law's mysterious Force user character, the kids must find a way to get home. It's been confirmed that this series is part of The Mandalorian universe, though we don't know how it is connected at this time or where in the Mandoverse timeline it happens. We do know that the pirate Vane, played by Marti Matulis, from The Mandalorian Season 3 has been confirmed to be in the series.
