The Bad Batch is back in a brand new comic miniseries in January!
Clone Force 99 is back for an all-new mission next year! Dark Horse Comics has announced that a brand new comic book miniseries will tell stories of the Bad Batch during their days in the Clone Wars.
Set before the events of The Clone Wars Season 7 with the original team of Hunter, Crosshair, Wrecker, and Tech, Star Wars News Net had the exclusive reveal for Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents. The five-issue miniseries is written by Michael Moreci, who tackled the Batch's story in another Hyperspace Stories series. The illustrators are Reese Hannigan, Elisabetta D’Amico, and Michael Atiyeh. The cover artist is Valeria “Lux” Favoccia, with French Carlomagno on the variant covers. The first issue arrives on January 15, 2025.
Star Wars News Net and Dark Horse Comics revealed the summary of the series, saying, "The Clones of the Bad Batch have been through some intense missions throughout the Clone Wars and it’s said they have a 100% success rate. But this time, they may have met their match. In Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents, they are on a mission to hunt down the mysterious Separatist ghost agent who executed a daring heist on Coruscant! The thief’s trail leads Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Tech to the seediest corners of the galaxy, a place where kingpins and thugs threaten the clones’ mission—and their lives!"
This is an exciting way to continue The Bad Batch now that the series has completed earlier this year. While fans were left wanting to know more about the future of Omega after the finale, there isn't much known about the original Batch prior to their debut in The Clone Wars. Comics are a wonderful medium to explore these brothers and their dynamic, laying the seeds of the series in the long run. Also, as a diehard Tech fan, I've missed my boy!
Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents is out on January 15, 2025.
