D23 Expo 2024 revealed some new information for the upcoming Star Wars film The Mandalorian & Grogu. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni took the stage on the big night to reveal the first look at the movie's logo. We also got some new details and a teaser trailer. The film is out in May 2026.

"We're putting Star Wars back on the big screen," Filoni shared to the roar of the crowd. The reveal of the logo shows the sillohouette of Din Djarin and his son, Grogu. Filoni and Favreau noted they've only been filming a few weeks, so they're not too far into the process. However, there was a small teaser trailed shared.

The teaser trailer reused footage from Seasons 1 and 2, reminding fans that Din and Grogu are a clan of two. It shifted towards the end with the reveal that the Razorcrest is back! Who knows what this means for Din's N1 starfighter, but it is great to see the old ship back again. It was also revealed the Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios who made a cameo in Season 3 will be back. Like in his debut series Star Wars Rebels, Zeb will be voiced by Steve Blum.

Finally, there looked to be some kind of extended battle sequence. While not confirmed to be Hoth, the snow and ice planet with underground tunnels through a base is very reminiscent of the world in The Empire Strikes Back. Between snow troopers and seeing AT-AT's on screen again, the back half of the teaser trailer felt like a blast from the past. If Tatooine has been the darling of Disney+ series, then let's go back to Hoth on the bis screen.

The Mandalorian & Grogu will premiere in theaters May of 2026 marking Star Wars return to the big screen.
