This week's episode of The Acolyte reveals the shocking truth about the origin and creation of Osha and Mae Aniseya.
The twins were born without a father and were created by Mother Aniseya, the leader of the coven of witches introduced in episode 3 and carried by Mother Koril. This huge revelation may spark controversy among many Star Wars fans. Not only does this raise questions about what this could mean for the future of Star Wars, but whether the Jedi know anything regarding the twins' creation is unknown.
For now, they view Osha and Mae as simply two Force sensitive children, akin to many others in the galaxy, and seek to take them under their wing for training. This bombshell revelation may be reserved for later in the season. Its implications could be nothing short of shocking to the Jedi Council. The notion that the Force can be manipulated to create life at will may be alarming for them.
Based on Mother Koril and Mother Aniseya's conversation, the Jedi won't be pleased to hear how the twins were created. If it's something the Mothers believe will not sit well with Jedi, it likely won't. Is it possible that this power has always existed and that the Jedi knew about it? Did Darth Plageius learn about manipulating the force to create life from Mother Aniseya?
There's also a question of whether manipulating the Force to create life will in some way disrupt the balance of the Force, leading to a chain of events that triggers the dark side and re-awakens the Sith. After all, there have to be consequences for such an unnatural event. Why Mother Aniseya created Osha and Mae is not made completely clear unless she foresaw her death and knew no one within her coven would survive. Perhaps she wanted her daughters to carry on her customs and traditions, so her kind wouldn't be lost.
Regardless of her motivations, the episode doesn't justify her actions, setting the stage for dramatic repercussions when the Jedi discover the truth.
