A good trailer reveals just enough to get fans excited but keeps all the big twists and turns a secret. The new The Bad Batch trailer does exactly this, by revealing a few surprises and keeping the majority of what's to come a secret. It also raises some big questions about what's to come in the final season.
Here are 5 questions we have after The Bad Batch Season 3 trailer:
What's going on with Asajj Ventress?
Perhaps the biggest question the trailer leaves us with is how in the world Asajj Ventress came back. Ventress's character sacrifices herself in the 2015 novel Star Wars: Dark Disciple when she's killed by Count Dooku while trying to save Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos. Footage of Ventress sent fans into a tizzy as soon as the trailer dropped, with many fans accusing Dave Filoni of retconning Dark Disciple. However, the Star Wars Official accounts issued a clarification on this immediately. Maybe Ventress's scenes are just flashbacks of her before she died, or she's been resurrected by Nightsister magic. The answers will come when the show premieres next month.
Is Tech alive?
This one's obvious and probably what most fans ask themselves. We secretly hope Tech returns somehow after sacrificing himself in the Season 2 finale to save his brothers and Omega. The trailer doesn't give many hints about this happening, but his loss still weighs heavily on his brothers. It will be interesting to see if he comes back or not. If not, we'll miss him in Season 3.
Will Omega and Crosshair make it?
Omega and Crosshair are being held captive on Mount Tantiss and will probably be subjected to all sorts of experiments as the Empire is conducting cloning research there. In all probability, one of them will make it out of there alive, but we hope it's both. Crosshair's fate has seemed in jeopardy from the moment he left his brothers to join the Empire, but we know his redemption arc awaits in Season 3. Hopefully, he can reunite with his brothers and sister by the end.
What is Omega's true purpose?
Why was Omega created, why does the Empire want her, and is she force-sensitive? Fans have had many questions about her since her character was introduced in Season 1 of The Bad Batch. We know all the Bad Batch's special, but how special is she? Throughout the series, Omega has displayed certain force-sensitive qualities, which begs the question of whether she's the first force-sensitive clone. Why was she created in the first place and what role will she play in the future of Star Wars, assuming she makes it out alive?
What characters will show up in the series?
Palpatine, Fennec Shand, Captain Rex, and Ventress are locks for The Bad Batch Season 3, but who else might make a surprise appearance in the series? Is it possible that we'll get a Darth Vader, Quinlan Voss, or Grand Admiral Thrawn appearance? Will any characters from The Mandalorian, such as Grogu or Moff Gideon, show up? We're excited about all the surprise character appearances in the upcoming season.
The Bad Batch Season 3 premieres on February 21st on Disney+.
