Many Star Wars fans are familiar with every video game that has been set in a galaxy far, far away. But even the most dedicated fans may not be aware of the little-known game Star Wars: Movie Duels which is available to play online.
IGN recently did a great video breaking down the key parts of this mod game which is well worth a watch because it showcases the awesome gameplay. It is a mod of the video game STAR WARS: Jedi Knight Academy, which some fans consider one of the best lightsaber combat games ever created even though it came out over 20 years ago.
That makes it the perfect game to mod in order to create iconic battles in the Star Wars universe. This game seemingly has every major lightsaber battle from all nine of the Skywalker Saga movies. It even has iconic battles from animated shows like Star Wars Rebels when Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul face off on Tatooine.
The gameplay is great. You get to have fairly realistic duels that match what happens in the shows or movies. Plus, they have even added features that are not present in the original game, like close-range lightsaber combat, which adds another layer of realism to the game.
The game also seems to use actual lines of dialogue from the shows or movies so you can truly immerse yourself in those iconic scenes.
Over the years, we have received many very good Star Wars games. The closest you get to actually recreating scenes from the movies is probably Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. But obviously, that is a Lego game, so while it is very fun, it lacks that element of realism.
Unfortunately, as of right now this game can only be played on Windows PC. You can visit the website of the game to learn more about how exactly to download it so you can immerse yourself in these iconic moments.
I do not have Windows PC so I cannot play the game, but you can be sure I will go down the YouTube rabbit hole to see gameplay footage of the game so I can be as jealous as possible that I am missing out on such a cool experience.
