This week in Star Wars comics: A quiet start to April
After a busy March, April 2024 is starting off a bit more quiet in the world of Star Wars comics. That doesn't mean that cool stuff isn't coming out! Let's dive into This Week in Star Wars comics!
Star Wars #45
The trial of Lando Calrissian continues! After selling secrets against the Rebel Alliance to save Lobot's life during the Dark Droid event, Lando must face his crimes. No one seems to be on Lando's side. Even Luke and Leia have turned away. However, there is one person who might could help spare Lando: Darth Vader. Star Wars #45 is written by Charles Soule, the illustrator is Madibek Musabekov, and the cover artist is Stephen Segovia.
Star Wars: Darth Vader Vol. 8 – Dark Droids
Speaking of Darth Vader and Dark Droids, let's jump into trade paperbacks for this week. Coming out on Tuesday April 9 is Star Wars: Darth Vader Vol. 8 -- Dark Droids. This trade collects issues of Darth Vader (2020) #37-41, which covers the Dark Droids event from last year. As the villainous Scourge is taking over all technology, the Sith Lord must rely on lessons from the Jedi, specifically Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn to survive. This book is written by Greg Pak and the cover artist is Leinil Francis Yu.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian — Season Two, Part Two
The second half of The Mandalorian Season 2 comic adaptation is here. Star Wars: The Mandalorian — Season Two, Part Two collects issues #5-8, which adapted the episodes that match those numbers. As always, while there isn't new information added to the comic adaptations, they are fun to see our favorite TV episodes in a comic book style. This trade is also out on April 9 and its written by Walter Simonson.
April might be off to a quite start, but next week kicks it into high gear with five new entries! Check back then for This Week in Star Wars comics!
