It's the final Wednesday of the year, meaning it's the last comic book drop for 2023. It's all Marvel this week as we wrap up the final issue of the latest comic book event and go on a mission with Din Djarin and Migs Mayfeld to rescue Grogu. We also look ahead to Tuesday to see what trade paperbacks you should pick up!

Dark Droids #5

The horror-inspired Dark Droids comic book event comes to an end with issue #5. Written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Luke Ross and Alex Sinclair, the villainous Scourge threatens the safety of the entire galaxy. The Rebellion and the Empire must team up with third-party players like Qi'ra from Solo: A Star Wars Story. You won't want to miss this exciting conclusion.

The Mandalorian Season 2 #7

The Mandalorian Season 2 #7 adaptation continues to follow the stories of The Mandalorian. These adaptations are fun and provide fantastic artwork for the episodes people love. This month's episode is "The Believer," when Din had to team up with Mig Mayfeld to infiltrate the Imperial base to find Moff Gideon's ship after the villain kidnapped Grogu. It's considered one of the series' best episodes thus far, and this issue lets you see Pedro Pascal's face. This issue is written by Rodney Barnes, with Georges Jeanty as the penciller.

Upcoming trade paperbacks

While single issues drop on Wednesdays, trade paperbacks come out on Tuesdays. Here's a peek at the new trade coming soon on January 2, 2024.

Star Wars: Darth Vader - Black, White & Red Treasury Edition collects issues 1-4 of the anthology miniseres by Jason Aaron. Each issue told a different story about the Sith Lord. It was praised for it's art style and minimalistic approach. It featured different artists including Torunn Grønbekk and Peach Momoko, while the full series was illustrated by Leonard Kirk. This trade paperback arrives on Tuesday.

That's it for Star Wars comics this year. 2024 is set to be another exciting year, so check in each week here at Dork Side of the Force.
