Fans may be split on how they feel about certain films within the franchise. However, one aspect that the majority of fans agree on is the depth and amazing range of the music and scores of each and every one of the films.
The Star Wars movies of the franchise have a rich history of music, and we're ranking them from worst to best!
12. Attack of the Clones by John Williams
It pains me to put anything of John Williams last on any list. However, there is not too much of note with this score. A lot of it recycled themes from The Phantom Menace. Noteworthy theme: Zam Wesel and her assassin's theme.
11. Star Wars: The Clone Wars by Kevin Kiner
Introduces Star Wars to Kevin Kiner, who would score the series of the same name and Rebels. Great use of the guitar in the score, but nothing of too much note. Noteworthy theme: "Main Title."
10. The Last Jedi by John Williams
Williams hits the right notes with this one, but nothing that makes the score as memorable as his other work. Noteworthy theme: The use of the Falcon theme and "Rey's Theme" at the end of the film.
9. Revenge of the Sith by John Williams
The second half of the film, as well as the score, sets a dark but memorable tone for what is occurring with the "Rise of the Empire." Still uses some familiar themes for the past prequels. Noteworthy theme: "Music of Order 66."
8. Solo: A Star Wars Story by John Powell
Overall, not the greatest; however, certain parts of the score really shine through in particularly the entire "Mine Mission" sequence in the film. Noteworthy theme: "Enfys Nest Theme."
7. The Rise of Skywalker by John Williams
It is a thrilling score and adds the right mixture of nostalgia and new themes, such as when the Resistance and Rey approach the throne. Noteworthy theme: "The Force is With You."
6. The Phantom Menace by John Williams
Some themes reflected the childlike nature of the film. However, no one can critique "The Duel of Fates." Noteworthy theme: "The Duel of Fates."
5. The Force Awakens by John Williams
Kicked off the sequel trilogy and introduced many exciting themes while bridging the gap between the original trilogies. It would set the stage for the progression of themes throughout the trilogy. Noteworthy Theme: "Rey's Theme."
4. The Return of the Jedi by John Williams
Great way to end the original trilogy, and how can any fan not smile at the bringing back of "Yoda's Theme," the music of the space battle, or "The Parade of the Ewoks." Noteworthy theme: "The Parade of the Ewoks."
3. The Empire Strikes Back by John Williams
The score that brings out many emotions and feelings, the same as the film. "Yoda's Theme" and "The Imperial March" will be remembered as long as people play music. Noteworthy Theme: It may be simple, but the music played when Chewbacca puts back C-3PO I always remember as one character caring for another.
2. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story by Michael Giacchino
The score reflects the film itself. Tough and gritty and almost in a galaxy of its own. The power of the music as the Rebels get the plans can leave an impact on any who listens to it. The score also set the tone for the series, Andor. Noteworthy theme: "Jyn Erso and Hope Theme."
1. Star Wars by John Williams
The one that started it all for the franchise and created a love of classical music in films scores. Each motif was important for each character and the entire score is one long thrill ride. Not one note is out of place. Noteworthy Theme: "Here They Come."
