As the final season of Disney+'s Andor inches closer, the usual fan speculation about who may or may not appear in the show has begun. A recent rumor suggests that the beloved character Kino Loy could make another appearance in future episodes of the show.
Based on how things allegedly turned out for him in Season 1, it doesn't seem likely. But don't forget that this is Star Wars. If we didn't see a body -- sometimes even if we did -- all bets are off. Somehow, Kino Loy has (maybe, somehow) returned. It would be cool to see him again, no matter how unfavorable the odds.
The Andor episodes featuring Kino Loy include some of the most memorable moments from the Star Wars show's first of two seasons. While it is heavily implied in his final episode that he does not survive the prison break, the rumor has offered up an interesting opportunity to imagine how his character -- or the actor who played him -- might potentially return.
This wasn't the first time Andy Serkis ever appeared in Star Wars -- technically. He portrayed Supreme Leader Snoke in the sequel trilogy as well, so Andor was sort of like a return to a galaxy far, far away for him. Being able to appear on screen using his actual face and body helped him "get away" with it, in a way. So who's to say he couldn't appear again as a completely different character?
This is all fun speculation, of course, and there's no official comment from Lucasfilm to go off on this one. But who doesn't love an opportunity to imagine all the Star Wars characters Serkis could lend his iconic voice to in the future?
Andor Season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ in April 2025.
