Diego Luna finished filming his final scenes as Cassian Andor months ago, but Andor Season 2 still hasn't been given an official release date. While promoting his new show, La Maquina, co-starring his real-life best friend, Gael Garcia Bernal, Luna told RadioTimes that Andor is coming, but he can't reveal anything about it.

"I can't really tell you anything about 'Andor,' but it's coming out. It's coming out, and it's great. The writing of Tony Gilroy is really powerful."

Andor was originally anticipated to be released much earlier but is now expected to premiere sometime early next year. Luna will reprise his role as Cassian Andor, whose life takes a dramatic turn after he joins the Rebellion. The second and final season will cover four years in Cassian's life before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, likely including Cassian's journey to becoming a valuable asset to the Rebel Alliance.

The wait is taking a toll on Luna, who wants fans to see the hard work he and the entire cast have put into Season 2:

"I can't wait for the second season to come out, but this show is teaching me to be patient, basically, like no other job."

Andor Season 1 ends with Cassian deciding to join the Rebel cause after the death of his mother, Maarva Andor. Season 2 will see the return of many pivotal characters introduced in Season 1 and big names who were a part of Rogue One. Alan Tudyk, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Duncan Pow, and Genevieve O'Reilly are among the actors returning for Season 2. However, Diego Luna's hints suggest that several major surprises remain under wraps, and we wonder if one of these surprises could be the return of Diego's Rogue One co-star, Felicity Jones, who plays Jyn Erso.

Luna's performance is something to look out for as he transforms from a disillusioned young man into a confident Alliance Intelligence Officer. Along with several big-name cameos, Season 2 will take us to planets and locations pivotal to the Rebellion, including Yavin 4. Hopefully, Disney will release an official trailer for Season 2 at the upcoming D23 event in Brazil, which takes place from November 8-10 in Sau Paulo.
