Around here at Dork Side of the Force, we think that Star Wars books are cool. Which is why we're happy to promote Clashing Saber's fundraiser Readvenge of the Sith, a yearly fundraiser to put stories from a galaxy far, far away into classrooms. This year's goal is a lofty one, and they need your help to make it happen!
In the past five years, this podcasting network has raised $4,700 and delivered over 900 Star Wars books to schools. They do not want to stop there! This year's goal is to raise $2000 by midnight on May 25. This money covers the purchasing and shipping of books to classrooms. None of the money is for the podcast network; just for the children they wish to help.
We've crossed the $500 mark, which puts us a 1/4 of the way to our goal of $2K to Star Wars books into classes. For context, right now we can contribute 100 books. When we reach our goal, that number goes up to 400 Star Wars books into the hands of kids! https://t.co/AMyiOhbWDH

There are also prizes to win! Clashing Sabers is running a raffle where donors can win special prizes. These include signed Star Wars books from Adam Christopher, Lydia Kang, Jason Fry, Claudia Gray, Delilah S. Dawson, and Tessa Gratton. There's also a chance to chat with two Star Wars authors! Four randomly selected donors can have a 30 minute Zoom call with E.K. Johnston, and one lucky donor will have a one-hour conversation with Mike Chen.
Don't have spare funds? No problem! Spreading the word is helpful and also gets you into the raffle. For posting a link to the fundraiser, you can get one free entry. Sharing this event with people who can donate is a great way to help! More details about how to do this are on the fundraiser's website.
Clashing Sabers is a Star Wars media network and literacy nonprofit dedicated to putting Star Wars books into the hands of students across the country. Every dollar raised through their Patreon or fundraisers goes directly toward purchasing and shipping books to teachers, helping students experience the magic and mythology of Star Wars.
