July 2025 marked the official end of the long-running High Republic series with one final comic issue serving as its formal conclusion. While it might feel bittersweet to say goodbye to these stories and characters so many of us have fallen in love with over the years, just because you're done with this series doesn't mean you have to call it quits on your Star Wars reading!

If you've recently finished The High Republic and want to know which Star Wars books to read next, here are a few recommendations to get you started.

The Acolyte: Wayseeker and The Crystal Crown

Wayseeker by Justina Ireland and The Crystal Crown by Tessa Gratton are must-reads after you're done with your High Republic journey. Ireland's story focuses on Vernestra and gives some hints about where some of your favorite characters may have ended up many years down the line, and The Crystal Crown features some High Republic easter eggs you won't want to miss.

Both books are written by High Republic authors and feature big and small connections to the characters and stories you know and love from the era. These stories also serve as a good bridge into The Acolyte itself, if you're hungry for a rewatch, and the books that fall after them in the Star Wars timeline.

Master & Apprentice by Claudia Gray

Before she contributed a handful of memorable stories to The High Republic, Claudia Gray wrote other Star Wars novels featuring some of your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away. If you've recently finished The High Republic and want a book not too far down the timeline, Gray's Master & Apprentice might be exactly what you're looking for.

Set before the events of The Phantom Menace, the book follows Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi on an important mission. While there aren't direct connections to The High Republic, the story ends up offering interesting commentary on the state of the Jedi Order and the galaxy at the time. As a bonus, John Jackson Miller's The Living Force does something similar as it follows the closing of a High Republic outpost on a faraway world.

Dooku: Jedi Lost by Cavan Scott

Originally an audio production performed by a full cast, Dooku: Jedi Lost tells the story of Dooku's rise through the ranks of the Jedi Order before leaving the institution prior to the Clone Wars.

The story was released before The High Republic began, but Scott -- having already done work on the series long before the rest of us knew about it -- snuck a ton of High Republic easer eggs into the script. It's almost a must-read after finishing THR. You can either listen to it in audio form or read the text in script form.
