Despite what you may have heard online, Star Wars isn't dead. Not only that, but audiences also aren't giving up on coming back for new Disney+ Star Wars shows as much as you might think. And there are data to prove it.

According to Parrot Analytics, demand for Star Wars TV shows on Disney+ has remained relatively steady over time. The same can't be said for Marvel, which has massively scaled back its output over the past few years -- if we're talking audience fatigue, the MCU might actually be the place to find it.

That doesn't seem to be the case when it comes to Star Wars, though. Despite Marvel and Star Wars shows making up a very small percentage of the content available on Disney+, Q2 2024 data suggest a large percentage demand relative to how much other content exists to view on the platform.

Which means, for our purposes, that people aren't getting tired of Star Wars at all. Star Wars fans keep coming back for more despite some claiming they're "done" with it. Which really makes you wonder how much of the Star Wars criticism you hear on the internet is a true reflection of people's feelings -- whether they show up to watch Star Wars or not.

There are always going to be moments when we ask Star Wars to do better. Times when it failed to meet our expectations and we're prompted to wonder where things may be heading next. But just because Star Wars isn't perfect doesn't mean many of us plan to give up on it. Each new Star Wars show brings something new to the franchise, and there's nothing wrong with sticking around to see what that looks like.

Oftentimes, we want Star Wars to be the best it can be because we love it. If one show doesn't work for us, who knows? The next one could end up being the best one we've seen yet.
