Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, episode 7, "We're Gonna Be In So Much Trouble."

A key piece of the puzzle to one of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew's biggest mysteries has been revealed. This mystery is in regard to the mysterious Supervisor who oversees the government and all life on the planet of At Attin. Despite the Supervisor's importance, the character is not seen or heard from in the first six episodes of Skeleton Crew, even after the children leave the planet.

That is no longer the case as of Skeleton Crew episode 7, which includes the Supervisor's voice for the first time. As the Onyx Cinder approaches its landing, the Supervisor makes a public announcement, informing the citizenry of At Attin that a Republic Emissary is arriving with a shipment and that all non-essential work will be paused until the shipment is offloaded.

The episode's credits reveal that the Supervisor is voiced by Stephen Fry. My first introduction to Fry was as Gordon Deitrich in V for Vendetta, where he is an ally to Evey Hammond (played by Star Wars actress Natalie Portman). However, Fry's career goes far beyond V for Vendetta, as he is a prolific actor, comedian, filmmaker, and writer.

Some of Fry's other notable onscreen roles include the 1997 movie Wilde, which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination, the sketch comedy series A Bit of Fry and Laurie, and Peter Jackson's The Hobbit films. He is an accomplished stage actor who has been recognized by the Olivier Awards and the Tony Awards for his performances on the West End and on Broadway. Fry is also a humanitarian who was knighted for his contributions, among them being how he helped raise mental health awareness.

What Stephen Fry's Voice Means For Skeleton Crew

While it is exciting to add an accomplished artist like Fry to a galaxy far, far away, his debut has larger ramifications for Skeleton Crew's story. Based on the pleasant, business-as-usual way that the Supervisor speaks, he does not seem to recognize that anything is amiss during the Onyx Cinder's approach.

SM-33 (Nick Frost) explains that the Onyx Cinder is able to travel through At Attin's barrier because it is a ship from At Attin's Mint that was stolen by Tak Rennod. The Supervisor may simply be unalarmed because he recognizes that a ship from At Attin's Mint is approaching.

It is also possible that the Supervisor is a droid or some kind of artificially intelligent system that is running on autopilot. This would explain why the Supervisor does not come to greet the supposed Emissary when the Onyx Cinder lands or when Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) and the children descend into the Mint's vaults. It would also address why security droids are left to manage all affairs on At Attin and why even high-level government officials like Undersecretary Fara (Kerry Condon) do not get to meet with the Supervisor.

Whatever the truth is, it is poised to be fully revealed in the final episode of Skeleton Crew season 1. Whether the Supervisor is a human, an alien, a droid, or something else entirely, more of Fry's voice will definitely be featured in episode 8.
