Young Jedi Adventures recap: The Junk Giant

The Young Jedi Adventures episode "The Junk Giant" opens with our Jedi Younglings and their friend Nash Durango in town in Kublop Springs at the Hap Sap Tap getting milkshakes from the owner, Hap. There is a statue of a woman just outside of the restaurant, and Lys Solay asks Nash who she is.

It's Kaliah Kublop, the founder of the town and supposedly the first person to explore Tenoo. Suddenly nearby, a Chadra-Fan named Marlaa is in such a hurry that she trips and spills fruit everywhere. Nash introduces the Jedi to the woman who owns a local junkyard.

Marlaa is rushing because there's a thief stealing from her business. The Jedi volunteer to help catch the thief, which Marlaa welcomes. They arrive at the junkyard, and Marlaa explains that her junk is beautiful, something that Kai Brightstar finds strange. But Marlaa explains that it can be turned into something new by being used in other ships or transformed into artwork. She proudly shows off her art in front of her home. She's worried this thief will force her to close shop and leave the planet.

At first, it was just small things going missing, but now bigger pieces of junk are going missing, including gears from the heavy machinery Marlaa uses to do her job. Lys notices a trail of oil. They decide to split up with Nubs staying with Marlaa and the rest to follow the trail.

It leads our heroes to the hideout of the dastardly pirate Taborr Val Dorn and his henchmen Pord and EB-3. Taborr is excited because he's using the junk to build something cool to steal more bigger and even cooler stuff to impress other pirates!

The Jedi and Nash leap out to confront him! But Taborr has a trick up his sleeve. Pushing a button, all the junk he's stolen revs up and turns into...

THE JUNK GIANT!

The first thing he plans to steal is the statue of Kaliah Kublop! Taborr and his crew flee while the Junk Giant traps the Jedi and Nash inside the building with heavy metal. They try to use the Force to move the block, but it's too big for the younglings.

Having learned Marlaa's lesson, Kai gets an idea from the spare junk all around them. Together, the three friends work as a team and build a little lifter of their own! It grabs the heavy metal, shoving it to the side and freeing our heroes.

Just in time too, because Taborr is stealing the statue! Lys and Kai spring into action, looking for a way to shut down the Junk Giant. The droid swipes and misses Kai, but damages its hand in the process. Taborr calls the droid useless and commands it to keep the Jedi from following the crew. The pirates run away!

Kai persuades the droid to stop fighting before it can hurt anyone. He tells the droid that it's special and they will help get him fixed up once it returns the statue to its rightful place.

They go back to Marlaa and Nubs (who is exhausted from all the work Marlaa has put him through). Marlaa wants the droid to stay with her, finding it beautiful and special. She names the droid JG-1, which JG loves the name!

This is where Young Jedi Adventures "The Junk Giant" comes to an end.
