The Book of Boba Fett made waves when it premiered on Disney+ in late 2021, giving fans a deeper dive into the notorious bounty hunter’s journey through the Star Wars universe – for example, we finally found out what really happened in the Sarlaac pit. However, since then, many have been wondering, will Boba Fett return for a second season?

Temuera Morrison’s connection to Star Wars goes far beyond Book of Boba. His portrayal of Jango Fett in 2002’s Attack of the Clones set the stage for Boba’s eventual rise in the live-action Star Wars universe. By now, Morrison’s face has become synonymous with the Fett family, one of the most feared and respected bloodlines in all of Star Wars.

In a recent panel at FanX Tampa Bay, shared by Collider, Morrison, who brought Boba Fett to life in both The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian, opened up about his thoughts on the show’s future. Morrison confirmed he hasn’t heard any new developments on the potential for another season. This ambiguity has left fans (and the cast) in the dark, despite the immense popularity of the “Mandoverse” as whole.

Despite not receiving any updates from Lucasfilm, Morrison expressed his ongoing enthusiasm for the role and his hopes for another chapter in the bounty hunter’s ongoing saga.

He said, “I think we really have to treasure those moments now. All of you need to send a fax, or a letter, or an email, to those powers that be at Lucasfilm. I'm sure they'd love to hear from everyone. Please give Daniel Logan and Temuera Morrison another chance and put them somewhere.”

Logan, who portrayed young Boba in Attack of the Clones and served as the character’s voice actor in animation, chimed in with a few jokes about Morrison’s Star Wars tenure, “The crazy part with Star Wars is that you don't know about filming anything until like, a week, or maybe two, or even less than that, right? But the thing is, Temuera is the greediest person in Star Wars. He's played so many characters, he's got the most characters in Star Wars, if you go down the line — from Jango, Boba, all of the Clones, Rex, Cody, Fives — he's got the most characters in Star Wars.”

If a second season were to happen, there are a number of directions The Book of Boba Fett could take. Season 1 wrapped up with Boba Fett taking on the role of Daimyo, assuming control of Jabba the Hutt's criminal empire on Tatooine, setting the stage for a potentially high-stakes continuation. However, Morrison is no stranger to the fact that the Star Wars universe has a tendency to take unexpected turns.

He reflected on his character’s arc and the possibility of further exploring Boba’s motivations and the finer points of his leadership in the criminal underworld. “There’s always more to explore,” he said. “It’s a character who’s very layered, and I’d love to go deeper.”

While the absence of updates may be frustrating for fans, it’s clear that Morrison's commitment to Boba Fett hasn’t wavered. As Morrison himself said, “As long as the fans want it, I’m happy to come back.” Whether it's a second season of The Book of Boba Fett, an appearance in the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu film, or another Star Wars series, Morrison is ready for whatever the future holds.
