I recall watching the original trilogy every morning on the weekends before The Phantom Menace was released when I was a kid. Now fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the next Star Wars film on the big screen, The Mandalorian and Grogu in May 2026.

Fans can enjoy the 11 films from the franchise on the big screen before Din Djarin and The Child make their silver screen debut. Each Star Wars movie has one scene that fans still adore, and that is seemingly more memorable than all the rest.

Star Wars A New Hope (1977) - The Falcon escapes the Death Star

In the original film, Han and Luke battle tie fighters in an effort to escape the Death Star. It set the tone for the way each space battle would be shot and edited and coupled with John Williams cue had a sense of adventurous suspense.

The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - Yoda reveals himself to Luke

The power of the second film is directly correlated to the 3 foot Jedi Master. His transition from lonely creature to powerful Jedi master as he prepares Luke for what is to come is a moment etched in the memory of every fan of the franchise.

The Return of the Jedi (1983) - Destruction of the Executor

As the Rebels turn the tide on land and space, the destruction of the Super Star Destroyer is a powerful moment. The Rebel pilot who sacrifices himself by running into the command post is emblematic of the entire Rebel Alliance.

The Phantom Menace (1999) - Pod race sequence

It was shot well, had the suspense and introduced Anakin Skywalker as a child worthy of attention from the Jedi. The entire 12 minute part of the film was a perfect way to show the heart of Anakin.

Attack of the Clones (2002) - Yoda and the Clones Save the Day

As the Jedi and Padme had lost hope, Yoda of course saves the day. It introduced the Clones and their ability to assist the Jedi in what is to come from the impending war and Empire. "Around the survivors a perimeter create," says Yoda.

Revenge of the Sith (2005) - Darth Vader vs Obi Wan

In the climatic battle against newly cemented evil vs good, it carries a lot of weight for what will come for the galaxy. The haunting music of Williams brings depth and the heartbreaking conclusion is a powerful moment for the franchise.

The Force Awakens (2015) - Han gives Rey the blaster

It was a moment of transition as Han Solo, the perfect bridge, gives a blaster to the newcomer and key to the franchise, Rey. Harrison Ford who plays Han is telling the audience that Daisy Ridley playing Rey is ready for the moment.

Rogue One (2016) - Rebellions are Built on Hope

Jyn Erso is becoming the leader the whole film had been preparing for as she briefs the Rebel Alliance. Then she utters that powerful phrase with the her music cue coming right in. The phrase also establishes what is to come with the second season of Andor.

The Last Jedi (2017) - Finn vs Phasma

They don't like each other and the moment is emulated as Finn takes on his once mentor. The scene demonstrates both Phasma's ability and arrogance as Finn is able to defeat her. It is a proper send off for both the character of Phasma and portrayal from Gwendoline Christie.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) - Mine Mission

The entire sequence is worthy of one of the great moments of the franchise. From the bond being formed between Han and Chewie to Donald Glover's simple mannerisms as Lando, it is one of the best moments of the franchise. Also, watching Emilia Clarke do her thing is great for fans of many franchises.

The Rise of Skywalker (2019) - Ben and Rey vs Palpatine

After three films, the two characters finally were in sink and worked together to defeat and take on Emperor Palpatine once and for all. Adam Driver's nod to both Harrison Ford and the sure love of Daisy Ridley's Rey highlights the scene.
