It's the dead of winter and that post holiday gloom. Maybe you're not keeping up with your resolutions... that is unless your New Year's resolution was to read more Star Wars comics! There are two books out this week to curl up with as we all try to stay warm.
This Week in Star Wars Comics is The Battle of Jakku - Last Stand #2 and Star Wars Legends: The Empire Omnibus Vol. 3.
Star Wars Legends: The Empire Omnibus Vol. 3.
I'm going to switch it up and start with the trade paperback that came out on Tuesday. Personally, I've been on a bit of a Star Wars Legends kick the last few months as I prepare to go to Legends Expo in September. As a newbie to this content, it's been truly fun to dive deeper into this part of Star Wars.
Star Wars Legends: The Empire Omnibus Vol. 3 is part of the Epic Collection, and it's volumes 4-7 of The Empire, which features stories of Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and more. For the video game fans, the one shots of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and The Force Unleased II are in the collection, too. There are also several Jabba the Hutt one shots. All together, it's over forty comic issues in one book. The cover artists are Ken Kelly for the main cover with Chris Scalf for the variant cover.
The Battle of Jakku - Last Stand #2
"Why does everyone want to go back to Jakku?"
We're starting to head that was at the maxiseries is heading towards the finale in the next few issues. Han Solo is back with the team, as Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker reel from the Acolytes of the Beyond's assassination attempts. The final stand of the Empire comes together on the eve of battle.
The Battle of Jakku - Last Stand #2 is written by Alex Segura, and illustrated by Jethro Morales and Jim Campbell, and the cover artist is E.M. Gist.
That's it for this edition of This Week in Star Wars Comics! See you in the splash pages!
