This Week in Star Wars Comics: Battle of Jakku carries the week

Next Wednesday should have really shared some of its issues. Next week has a whopping six issues or trade paperbacks, including The High Republic wedding spectacular, out just in time for the holidays. That's not this entry, though, as there is only one title here. However, it's no small feat as the comic is wrapping up phase two of the current comic event.

This Week in Star Wars Comics, we discuss The Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege #4

As the war between the fledgling New Republic and the Imperial remnants continues, both sides are reeling from wins and losses. Mon Mothma struggles with a detrimental reveal of someone close to her as assassinations are running through the Resistance. However, the Imperial Warlord Moff Ubrik Adelhard is having his own troubles thanks to the doublecross of the Spice Runners of Kijimi. Their leader, Zeva Bliss decided to do her own thing as scoundrels in Star Wars often do.

Lando Calrissian is facing his own set of problems with his forces defeated. Luke Skywalker must make dire choices to get back to his friends in time. And Adelhard plays his most destructive hand yet, bringing this chapter of The Battle of Jakku comic event to a close.

Star Wars The Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege #4 is written by Alex Segura, illustrated by Stefano Raffaele and Alex Sinclair, and the cover artist is Taurin Clarke.

Peeking into next week, the big title to look out for is The High Republic Adventures Phase III - The Wedding Spectacular. It's the wedding of Lula Talisola and Zeen Mrala, bringing their slow-burning romance to an exciting conclusion. This one-shot will not be one to miss, as it's going to have appearances from many fan-favorite characters from The High Republic era of storytelling. This issue will be available on December 18, 2024.
