February is wrapping up, and so are Star Wars comics for the month. While there is only one book out this week, it's the one I hope does really well. We also take a sneak peek to see what's coming in March.

This Week in Star Wars Comics, it's The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation #1.

The reason I so desperately want The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation to sell well is it's the first comic adaptation in about 4-5 years to have bonus content. Adaptations used to do this all the time, but for some reason, they just sort of stopped. These don't count other titles from different publishers, like the Star Wars: Visions manga adaptation from Viz Media, which did have extra bits peppered in. These are the Marvel Comics titles that have fallen off with this. Getting bonus content and seeing deleted scenes on the page is one of the biggest pulls for adaptations. It's not fair to the writers and artists who are putting work and effort into these issues. The adaptations feel pointless until adding extra content comes back unless you're a super fan of the characters or a completionist comic collector.

Fingers crossed that The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation #1 sells well! It's written by Jody Houser, the artist is Will Sliney, and the cover artist is Phil Noto.

Let's peek ahead into Star Wars Comics for March 2025

February kicked off multiple new series which will continue next month, but there are a few new things to get hyped about in March. The one I'm most excited for is the Star Wars Hyperspace Stories: Qui-Gon graphic novel. It's the first of a series of graphic novels to come, and it's finally here after some delays. I always want more stories with Qui-Gon Jinn, and this one sounds particularly interesting as he and Obi-Wan Kenobi look into a dark side Force cult called The Brotherhood of the Ninth Door. Weird Force stuff with one of my favorite Jedi written by George Mann, who has been killing it in The High Republic? Sign me up!

The other big title to look forward to is the new series, Jedi Knights. This premise sounds intriguing as the first issue will introduce all the players and a new mystery. Then, every issue after that will feature one to two prequel Jedi as they try and unravel the plot. Some of the Jedi we know who will be featured include Count Dooku in his pre-Sith era, my boy Qui-Gon, Mace Windu, and more. It's also bringing into the canon for the first time ever the scrapped Kenner toy villain Atha Prime.

That's it for This Week in Star Wars Comics! See you in the splash pages!
