This Week in Star Wars Comics has The High Republic, the next entry of The Battle of Jakku, and a great gift for Darth Vader fans.
Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege #2
Doctor Aphra is back and once again teaming up with Luke Skywalker. Together they will fend off a group of dark side Force users working with the Imperial remnants. Speaking of the leftover Empire, they continue their onslaught on the New Republic.
Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege #2 is written by Alex Segura, illustrated by Stefano Raffaele, and the cover artists are Taurin Clarke and Davide Paratore.
The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone #2
Writer Alyssa Wong is making their debut in The High Republic Adventures with one of their creations, Ruu, an ex-Jedi padawan turned vigilante. Ruu has joined Crash Ongwa's security team, tasked with hunting down the villainous Nihil, The Warden. The baddie has a Republic droid with valuable information about the fight against the Nihil.
The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone #2 is written by Wong, illustrated by Valeria "Lux" Favoccia, and the cover artist is Jake Bartok.
The High Republic Adventures – Echoes of Fear #3
Pardon me. I'm just over the moon about the return of one of my favorite High Republic characters: Cohmac Vitus. He's glorious and I love his hair.
Master Vitus is back to aid his ex-Padawan now Jedi Knight Reath Silas in his research of the powerful Force artifact, the Echo Stones. Along with Padawan Amadeo Azzazzo aiding them, they dive into the history of a Jedi went missing as they seek out ways to stop the monstrous Force eaters the Nihil have weaponized.
The High Republic - Echoes of Fear #3 is written by George Mann the illustrator is Giorgia Sposito, and the cover artist is Eduardo Mello.
Star Wars: Darth Vader Modern Era Epic Collection: Shadows and Secrets
The one trade out this week is the Darth Vader Modern Era Epic Collection: Shadows and Secrets, part of the Epic Comics collection from Marvel Comics. This compiles Darth Vader (2015) #1-12 plus the annual. It's a perfect gift for any Darth Vader fan, out just in time for the holidays.
