Rumors continue to heat up for the first Star Wars film released in theaters in over five years. The Mandalorian and Grogu movie is set to premiere in the summer of 2026. One rumor and question are whether Katee Sackoff will reprise her role of Bo-Katan Kryze in the film.

The actress has portrayed the character in both live action and voiced her on various series for the franchise. She has been a hit with the fanbase and starred alongside Pedro Pascal in Season 3 of The Mandalorian series.

The actress thus far has not given much out in terms of whether or not she will appear in the upcoming movie. When asked at an Indiana Comic Panel about a possible return, Collider shared Sackoff's response.

"I have not been in the armor in 2025," said the actress. Though, it was reported that she had a big grin on her face when she made the statement. It also is worth noting that filming for the film wrapped in 2024, not this year.

It would be surprising for her not to be in the film, considering her role was greatly expanded in Season 3 of the series, and she has been working in the franchise since before Disney took over. Sackoff first voiced the character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars in 2012. Since then, she has voiced the character in several episodes and reprised her role in Star Wars Rebels in 2017. She made her live action debut in Season 2 of The Mandalorian in the episode, "The Heiress," and has starred in 10 episodes since then.

Sackoff has continued to be a star in many science fiction films and series in her career outside of the Star Wars franchise. This includes Battlestar Galactica, CW's The Flash, and Power Rangers.

She has spoken of her love of Bo-Katan many times, and it would be very surprising to not see her in the film. “I’ve lived in this woman’s skin for a long time now," the actress told Empire before Season 3.
"It respects the craft and the years that I have put in. I really do know her – her pain is my pain. When she experiences something, I really feel it."

The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to premiere in theaters on May 22, 2026. If Sackoff does appear, I expect a huge roar from several audiences who will see her character for the first time on the big screen.
