Who would have thought that the preschool series would be the awards darling?

Young Jedi Adventures is now a three-time Emmy Award winner. It was the back-to-back champion at the 3rd Children’s and Family Emmys, winning the category of Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing for a Preschool Animated Program after snagging this category in 2023. It beat out Santiago of the Seas, Shape Island, Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum, and the ever-popular Baby Shark's Big Movie! I know my nieces and nephews are obsessed with Baby Shark, so this series beating such a popular program is no small feat.

Via The Hollywood Reporter, the show was nominated for three other categories including Music Direction and Composition for an Animated Program, Voice Directing for an Animated Series, and Editing for a Preschool Animated Program. That last category was Young Jedi Adventures' second win in 2023, but it lost out this time around to StoryBots: Answer Time.

The awards darling little show has become quite the fan favorite, making it the Bluey of Star Wars. Young Jedi Adventures follows the journey of Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs as they figure out how to be good Jedi. They often team up with their pilot friend Nash Durango and have run-ins with the pirate Taborr Val Dorn and his gang.

The second half of Season 2 is set to premiere on March 19, and this season has been exploring quite the twisty storyline. It's been revealed that Taborr is actually a prince named Cyrus Vuundir who has befriended the Jedi younglings. He struggles with his double life and whether or not his new friends will accept him. We'll have to wait and see how it all plays out.

I find it funny that for all of its hype, Andor has fewer Emmy nominations and wins compared to Young Jedi Adventures. Granted, there is a big difference between the Primetime Emmy Awards and the
Children’s and Family Emmys. Still, it shows that Star Wars can and will continue to be an awards darling.

Young Jedi Adventures finished its second season on Disney+ on March 19.
