When Will We See the First Full-Length Trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

Yesterday, May 4th, we Star Wars fans celebrated Star Wars Day by wishing each other well with “May the Fourth be with you.” Today, May 5th, now that the celebrating is done, we sadly must suffer through the Revenge of the Fifth. With yesterday’s Vanity Fair reveal of The Force Awakens cover, featuring Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, excitement for Episode VII was at an all time high, however, now we enter the long winter summer of our discontent, until the next big Disney/Lucasfilm event.

As of now, we have only seen two teaser trailers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but those brief looks into J.J. Abrams’ version of a galaxy far, far away served to only make us thirst for more. So, the question remains: When will we get to see the first full-length trailer for The Force Awakens? The answer may be found by simply looking at the calender.

On August 14-16, Disney’s D23 Convention will take place, and it may well serve as the perfect platform for the world premiere of the full-length trailer. Now that Disney is housing Lucasfilm and the Star Wars brand, why not show off the flagship at the company’s marquee event? However, I’m leaning towards a completely different date, all together.

StarWars.com has announced that on September 4th, Disney and Lucasfilm will be hosting a HUGE merchandise reveal day, which they are calling “Force Friday.” Not only will there be a completely new line of toys and merchandise revealed on that date, but a new series of 20 books and comics will start that day as well, running up until December, titled Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Knowing this, wouldn’t it make perfect sense to have the world premiere of the first full-length trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens debut on September 4, a day they are calling Force Friday? For now we have no real information to go off of, except for using our Force sensitive powers of super-sleuthing, and in doing so, all the signs point to September 4th.

Which date do you think the full-length Force Awakens trailer will drop on? Let’s talk about it, in the comments below.
