Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One to be featured at D23
Roughly four months after Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer #2 was shown at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, the movie will take center stage, once again, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Hall D. The Force Awakens and Rogue One are to be the featured Star Wars films on display August 14-16 at D23, the Disney convention for its fans.
Here’s a snippet from the official D23 press release:
"“In two separate Hall D23 sessions, The Walt Disney Studios will unveil an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at its upcoming film slate. At Friday’s session, fans will go in-depth with the talented filmmakers at Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios to get a sneak peek at films such as Zootopia and Finding Dory. On Saturday, live-action titles such as Alice Through the Looking Glass and The Jungle Book and films from Marvel and Lucasfilm, along with some very special guests, take center stage.”"
Alongside live-action movies of classic Disney animated films, and a look at the coming film slate from Marvel, Lucasfilm will give a look at its upcoming films, which at this time include The Force Awakens and Rogue One.
Now, since we just had our second teaser for Force Awakens, not a month ago, it’s a safe assumption to say there may be new footage shown at D23. And, with more time to work on Rogue One, and considering that the deal between Disney and Paramount concerning Rogue One promotion versus the Rogue Nation release, will come to an end before the convention starts, it’s also a safe assumption that we will see a coming-out party, of sorts, for Roue One.
We may also see the unveiling of the second Star Wars Anthology film name, which has picked up some major steam in the form of a certain bounty hunter. D23 would be the perfect place for that movie to be announced.
