Two Star Wars: The Force Awakens Screenshots Leaked (SPOILER)

SPOILER WARNING: Though the screenshots below do not appear to give away any major plot points in and of themselves, I am including an analysis of them from Jason Ward, who first reported the photos on Making Star Wars, after the second photo. This analysis is based on inside information (i.e., spoilers) Ward has received from sources who shall remain anonymous.

Two screenshots from Star Wars: The Force Awakens have been leaked! The first features Han Solo at the helm of the Millennium Falcon, with Rey riding shotgun and Finn sitting just behind her. Check it out.

The second screenshot appears to show Domhnall Gleeson’s character, whom Ward refers to as “The General,” giving a briefing to or having a conference with Captain Phasma.

SPOILER ANALYSIS:

With regard to the first screenshot, Ward says that Rey is looking shocked because the world that she, Han, and Finn are flying to is a jungle planet, and all of the green, which is so different from the dusty blandness of Jakku, produces an emotional response in her.

In the second screenshot, Ward says Gleeson’s character is sending Captain Phasma to pursue the deserter Finn, who you can kind of see depicted in the hologram in the foreground.

I like that these are the screenshots that leaked, because they’re just enough of a tease to make us excited for the movie and yet not revealing enough to spoil any plot points (at least if you’re just looking at them and not reading any extra analysis). It’s also great to finally see Gleeson’s character close up. Back when the second The Force Awakens teaser trailer premiered, some fans with incredible computer zoom-in prowess noticed that the central figure in the background of the First Order Stormtrooper assembly looked vaguely like Gleeson. That, in addition to the new screenshot above, gives credit to the rumor that he is a high-ranking officer of the First Order.

So what do you think? Do these screenshots make you even more excited for Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Sound off in the comments below.
