The Game of Thrones Season 5 finale saw Stannis Baratheon meet his end by the combined one-two punch of House Bolton and Brienne of Tarth. The Mannis (as he’s known across the internet) went out like a boss, and thanks to Imagine Nation from YouTube, his death is even more badass than what actually played out on screen. Check it out.
Is there any better way for Stannis Baratheon to meet the inevitable than by listening to a rousing speech from King Aragorn of Gondor (Lord of the Rings)? How about adding lightsabers to the mix before charging the Bolton army? This is exactly the kind of stuff you get when people begin to jones for Game of Thrones and Star Wars at the same time.
The only way to make this video any better than it already is, would be to have Sir Alec Guiness as the original Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, give his “Jedi Knight” speech:
"Your father’s light saber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times… before the Empire."
And then Stannis and his army draw their lightsabers to take on Darth Ramsay in a battle to the glorious embrace of a Jedi’s death…oops, there I go geeking out again. Hopefully this isn’t the last Star Wars/Game of Thrones mashup from Imagine Nation, because December 18 sure does seem like a long way off. Also, can we expect Stannis’ Force Ghost to appear in the next trilogy?
