The appearance of the woman featured, as well as the A-Wing behind and to her right, add up to Shara Bey, whom we were introduced to in an interview by StarWars.com with Shattered Empire writer, Greg Rucka. Shara is an A-Wing pilot for the Rebel Alliance; she even took part in the Battle of Endor, in which the Second Death Star was destroyed. She, along with her husband Kes will be featured in the Shattered Empire series; though, it’s been made clear that Shara is the main protagonist.

- What is Star Wars: The High Republic?
Judging by her garb and the somewhat desolate landscape, it looks like Shara might be getting ready to go on a scouting mission or perhaps undercover. This would be apropos to the time period, given that the Empire is in the early stages of falling apart. The Rebellion will want to strike as hard and fast and often as they can, at any weak spots in the Empire’s seemingly impenetrable armor of fleets and Stormtroopers.
It is interesting to me that Shara’s mission is requiring her to step out of her A-Wing (and possibly her comfort zone). We may even get to see her work with her Kes, who is a ground trooper, which would leave plenty of room for intriguing (and dramatic) plot twists.
Star Wars: Shattered Empire #1 will be available on September 9th, according to PREVIEWSworld.
