We are two days away from the grand Star Wars: The Force Awakens marketing event — Force Friday — and retailers worldwide are preparing accordingly. Large chains like Toys”R”Us, Walmart, Barnes and Noble and Target — along with many others — will be partaking in all the fun starting at midnight on Friday, September 4th. In that regard, Target has released an incredibly cool Star Wars commercial to announce their The Force Awakens campaign, Share the Force.

Target hits the — pardon the horrible pun — target, here. The nostalgia of watching Star Wars as a child cannot be matched, and sharing that feeling with a younger generation is the ultimate walk down feels lane. Target’s Share the Force offers Star Wars fans an opportunity to share their best Star Wars memories for a chance to have them archived at Lucasfilm.

From Target’s official presser:

"Until now, no one has attempted to collect and capture memories from the 147 million Star Wars fans throughout the world. Target recently launched a website called “Share the Force” that invites fans of all ages to upload and share their personal Star Wars memories. Once a memory is uploaded, the online experience gives fans coordinates for where their memories will live in the Star Wars universe. It also links guests back to Target.com to find a full listing of our new and exclusive products. This memory collection will be permanently archived at Lucasfilms."

This is certainly a fantastic way to experience the entire Star Wars universe, by exploring how other fans feel about the saga. An endeavour of this magnitude has never been attempted, and to be a part of this huge undertaking is an extremely rare opportunity and something that will be saved for all time.
