Marvel Star Wars: Vader Down #1 First Look
Marvel Star Wars has officially announced the epic six-part crossover event titled Vader Down. Two of Marvel Star Wars titles — Star Wars and Darth Vader — are coming together starting this November 18, with Vader Down #1. Writers Jason Aaron (Star Wars) and Kieron Gillen (Darth Vader) are teaming-up with artists Mike Deodato (Original Sin) and Salvador Larroca (Darth Vader).
From the official Marvel Star Wars Press Release:
"“Vader’s TIE Fighter has been shot down. Seeing this as their one, best chance to take him down once and for all, the Rebellion is ready to throw everything they have at him. Alone, outnumbered and outgunned, Darth Vader must now face the entire might of the Rebel Fleet. But the Rebels are about to learn the true unrestrained power of the Dark Side of the Force. To defeat their greatest enemy, the Rebel Alliance will risk it all. Yet with it all on the line, could this risky gambit cripple their forces in the fight against the Empire?”"
This epic crossover starts with Vader Down #1 and continues on the pages of Darth Vader #13 and Star Wars #13.

As you can see from the artwork, Vader seems like he’s in trouble in this six-part story. As a lifelong fan of Star Wars, I already know the fate of Lord Vader, but it’s really neat to see stories like this — which are now considered official canon — play out with all new characters in all new scenarios.
