Lucas Asks Abrams What Happens to Vader’s Grandchildren

One of the things about selling your baby to Disney–you stop having any rights over what they do with it.

George Lucas is facing that exact problem right now. He created the world of Star Wars. But he has no idea what’s going to happen in the new trilogy whatsoever. Which is why he had to take part in Vanity Fair‘s “Ask JJ Anything” video in order to find out.

I’m not sure he liked some of the answers either.

Watch this on The Scene.

Lucas’ question? Turns out it’s not far off from mine. “What happens to Darth Vader’s grandchildren?” (Mine would be “What happens to Jacen and Jaina?)

Abrams, on the other hand, is damned if he’s giving anything away: “Oh, George, this is great. You tell me man, you made all this sh** up.”

I suppose that’s better than his answer to Neflix’s Ted Sarandos’ question “JJ, will you finally bring back Jar Jar Binks?” The answer? “We’re developing a Netflix series called Binks and I.” Remind me not to put that in my “watch” list.

He told Katie Couric he plans to be asleep when the movie premieres, because once he’s done with it, he’s going to pass out. But my personal favorite was to the question: “What the hell happens between Luke and Darth Vader? Because that’s where it should all start. Is he dead or is he alive?”

“You should watch the earlier films, they exist.”

Just in case you were wondering if they would ever deny the prequels, there’s your answer.
