As the two newest and biggest stars on the planet, thanks to being cast in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley are finding themselves being interviewed as a set in several outlets for the run up to the movie’s release. Perhaps that why, when it came time to do a photoshoot for ASOS magazine, they decided to cut out the extraneous people, and just interview each other.
Boyega himself has admitted in interviews that the sudden shooting to super-stardom for the both of them has been something neither has been really able to prepare for. After all, despite working with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill (all of whom basically found their lives unexpectedly turned upside down after the original movie came out), they experienced it forty years ago, when the world was a very different place. They may have gone from nobodies to A list overnight, but that was a time before the internet, before social media, before smart phones with cameras in them everywhere, before 24-7-365 celebrity and fan websites. They’re going through this as a different generation, and the pressures are very different.

Boyega has at least seemed to figure out that if you’re on the tiger, you might as well ride. He’s all over social media these days, asking fans to do things like post their Star Wars Halloween costumes, getting involved in retweeting #ForceforDaniel, and generally doing a lot of his own positive self promotion. Over the weekend, he posted video of himself cosplaying Kylo Ren.
But then he got serious about his character’s inner life:
Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out December 18th. Only 38 more days to go.
