Star Wars: The Force Awakens marketing continues to roll along, as another television spot for Episode VII has aired.

There’s just no stopping the Disney/Lucasfilm marketing machine, as it keeps on rolling with another Star Wars: The Force Awakens television spot. This particular spot is only 15 seconds long and features one new scene of Poe in his X-Wing. Check it out:

“We got a lot of company!”

Looks like Poe and BB-8 are about to mix it up with some First Order TIE Fighters. There’s also a new scene from Rey and BB-8 where she asks about the little droid. BB-8 apparently answers that he’s classified, and Rey responds that she is too. Now, maybe we are reading too much into this, but is another nod to the mysterious parentage of Daisy Ridley’s character, Rey?

Since Rey first made an appearance in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailers, many fans have been trying to get to the bottom of just who she is. Some fans would have us believe that she is Han and Leia’s daughter. And, the latest round of television spots seem to support that theory. Just yesterday we were gifted a scene of Leia smiling — rather motherly — at Rey, as Rey returned the smile with a heartfelt look on her face.

Clever editing? Sly misdirection on the part of J.J. Abrams? Perhaps, but then there’s the near fatherly care with which Han Solo tries to get Rey to carry a blaster for protection.

Of course, other Star Wars fans are absolutely convinced that Rey is Luke Skywalker’s daughter, and that all will be revealed by the end of The Force Awakens. Either way, even though this TV spot is number 17 in the veritable plethora of teasers we’ve seen since October, I have a feeling that the master of misdirection — J.J. Abrams — has more than a few tricks up his sleeve.
